101 in 1001

In lieu of making traditional resolutions this year, I'm writing a list of 101 things I'd like to accomplish in the next 1,001 days. That's approximately 2.75 years and, for me, a happy medium between short term and long term goals. As you may know, I'll be graduating from college this May and so consider this to be a very exciting time in my life! I won't overwhelm you with the entire list all at once but I do want to share a few at a time and update you as I'm able to cross things off the list.

1. Come up with 101 things. It's harder than you'd think!

2. Inspire someone else to write a list of his or her own. Any takers?

9. Launch an inspiring interview series on my blog.

16. Take a ballroom dance class.

43. Buy my first piece of original art.

60. Read every Jane Austen novel.

75. Throw a surprise party for a friend.

My goals range from the serious to the fanciful and I'm delighted with the tasks I've outlined thus far (currently 86!). This is where I'll need your help, dear readers, in the form of a little inspiration for rounding out my list. What would make your list of 101 things to accomplish in the next 2.75 years?

This is such a cute idea. Congrats on graduating soon! I just graduated last May - it's such a liberating, but weird feeling.

One of mine is to learn French! and visit Paris!

After reading this post you have inspired me to do the same. I'm sick in bed for NYE so this is a way to make a bad situation better. I'm at 40 and starting to lose my creativity. Thanks for the idea and I love your blog!

this is a great idea! and great for such an exciting time in your life! here are few of mine:

1. go back and visit bordeaux (where i studied abroad) - god i miss it!

2. start my jewelry shop back up on etsy and get serious about learning new techniques to make my jewelry better (since wedding planning is OVER!)

3. find a job that not only pays the bills (like my current one) but challenges me and helps fulfill me creatively (thats going to be very hard to do in Salisbury where I am from)

maybe i will start this on my birthday? i will let you know...

So cool! I am still working on completing my 23 things before I turn 23 list. Certainly thinking I will create one of these lists each year. There is just something about list-making that I love :)

Have a happy new year!

Good luck on accomplishing 101 things, I'm always so intimidated by those! To add to your list maybe you could 1.) do something nice for a stranger, 2.) try to see life from another persons shoes for a day 3.)make sushi 4.) road trip across country (one of my things I want to do!)

Goodluck and Happy New Year!

A great idea. I love lists. I would pick some fun things like watch the Godfather (I never have), read Wuthering Heights, buy a pair of Jimmy Choos. F
Have fun!

I LOVE lists!!! 2.75 years is tricky! I might do a post now on my list for each month before baby.

But on yours, I would add:
Learn a new language.
Master 5 recipes.
Invest in a wardrobe staple.
Take old pictures and scan them in!! (this is on mine and my parents have TONS of boxes of photos)

Good luck!

- volunteer once a month
- buy a pair of louboutins
- try yoga
- take a cooking class
- wear more lipstick ;)

i also recommend starting a tradition with your college girl friends! as you all move apart post graduation its nice to have yearly or monthly gatherings to look forward to. we do a girls trip each year somewhere new! and monthly progressive dinners for the girls in town.

Oooh..fun idea! Just found your blog today.

Hmm...I would add to mine: get a job that I love, own every Agatha Christie book, finish uni, travel the UK and Europe...

That's all I can think of for now...you may have inspired me to do my own list! :D

OMG I just found your blog today, right this moment via Crystle of Plush Palate and I am so happy I did. My friend and I have already made a pack to live a year of adenture doing something new and adventurous each month for 2011 but I LOVE this idea and you have inspired me to do one myself. If will take me some time to come up with the list (i'll give myself till next weekend) but this is a fabulous idea! Top of my list would for sure be many travel related thing which have nothing to do with work.

Thank you so much for inspiring me! I look forward to seeing more of your list both as your finish it and as you accomplish!

Happy New Year! It was nice to meet you.

Hi Mackenzie! Thank you times three for your sweet comment on my new photos! You have an incredible eye for design so I feel extra special :) So as far as my list..

1. Drink more champagne! (although I'm not sure this is possible haha)
2. Figure out how to advertise my blog ... I believe you might be able to help with this ;)
3. Design my first piece of furniture, have it made at my parents factory, and sell it!!!
4 (two parts!) Part 1- Have my signature stationary and an official family crest designed and letter pressed. Part 2- Send more hand-written letters!
5.Find a French pen pal to help me keep up with my language skills!
6. Inspire someone else to write a list of his or her own as you have me :)

Happy New Year, darling!

Love your idea and hope you cross off all of them. Hmmm will have to think of that many but you have inspired me. I did ballroom dancing. I live in LA in a beach community and when I broke up with my old boyfriend (who never wanted to take classes) - I took them by myself with a group of people and had the time of my life. I would find myself dancing around the kitchen, tapping my feet under the table. I want to do it again. Worth every minute of it and at the end of the long day - I was sooo happy spinning around the floor.

I love this idea! I am not really one for resolutions, but to-do lists are so much better! It's obvious that you have already completed #2, so congrats on starting on your list so soon!

read at least two books a month
travel a foreign country every year
learn how to surf (even though I am nowhere near the sea)
write actual birthday cards
master a new recipe every month

Curious to see more of the tasks on your list!
