Redesign Update

Several of you have asked about the progress of my blog redesign. Well, after a bit of commotion around here, I'm changing the game plan and heading in an exciting new direction. Thanks to a recommendation from the darling Lindsay of The Pursuit of Style (whose new site is nothing short of stunning!), I am beyond thrilled to announce my collaboration with Hanna Nation of Gadabout.
In addition to launching her own iPhone app (genius!) and designing gorgeous custom stationery, Hanna is helping me breathe new life into Design Darling with a new header, new layout, new Twitter page, and my first business cards to boot! I am so excited to be working with her and so anxious to show you what we've got up our sleeves. In the meantime, do peruse her site and treat yourself to some new social paper — aren't her designs to die for?

Moodboards By Martha

I will forever come back to these beautifully styled vignettes from Martha Stewart Living. Ribbon, shoes, snail mail — everything I love! I would love to frame the top picture for my future dream closet...

Happy Monday!

Good morning! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. We had sixteen people sleeping in our house and plenty of time for family dinners and movie marathons. The more, the merrier! What was the highlight of your holiday? Your favorite present?

Merry Christmas!

I'm just stopping in to wish you all a very merry holiday! I'm spending Christmas at home in Connecticut, opening presents with siblings and cousins before helping our parents prepare dinner with my grandfather's old recipes. I hope you each have a wonderful day and a special moment or two with your family and friends. I'll be back to regular posting on Monday with lots of fresh inspiration for ringing in the New Year!

Ten Things That Make Me Happy

Please stop by Caitlin's beautiful blog Sacramento Street where I'm sharing ten things that make me happy!

Countdown To Christmas

I am home for the holidays and needless to say getting a very late start on Christmas preparations! I'll be spending the weekend holed up indoors to escape the bitter cold and hopefully to get a little online shopping done. This game plan calls for lots of vanilla latté drinking, puppy cuddling, and perhaps a little seasonal baking!

P.S. Those of you who follow me on Twitter know that one of our puppies, Fenway, has been a very sick little guy for the past week. Thanks to your well wishes, he is now back from the ICU and making a slow but steady recovery in the comfort of our home. I truly cannot thank you enough. Have a wonderful weekend!

Vote For Rue!

I would be so grateful if you each could take a moment (not even 30 seconds!) to vote for Rue Magazine in Casa Sugar's favorite online magazine poll. You'll recall that I attended their launch party and did a little writing for their second issue — your support would mean the world to me!

Guide To Art Schools' Top 50!

I'm so flattered to be included in Guide To Art Schools' list of the Top 50 Interior Design Blogs. Any list that features me alongside the likes of Design*Sponge, The City Sage, Little Green Notebook is A-okay in my book. Thank you all for stopping by each day and getting this little blog of mine off the ground!

With Bated Breath

Words cannot describe my excitement for the January launch of Matchbook Magazine! I find daily inspiration in the blogs of Katie Armour, Jane Lilly Warren, and Fallon Hogerty and, if these photos from their recent trek to New York are any indication of what's to come, I have no doubt that their collective effort will knock my socks off. Until then, I'll be content to follow their adventures on Facebook and Twitter in anticipation of the big day!

Seasonal Sparkle

Just a little gold and silver to brighten your Tuesday afternoon! It's my last day of classes for the semester and I'm certainly in need of a little sleep sparkle myself.

The Day After

How was your Thanksgiving? More importantly, how are you feeling today?
Are you dog tired...
...or up for some Black Friday shopping?

Giving Thanks

I know you're all busy busy in the kitchen or on the road but I wanted to take a moment and say thank you for reading, commenting, emailing, and making me feel like the above every single day. It's been a big year for me — an unforgettable internship with Jonathan Adler, my first articles published in Ruea new column with Design Refuge (starting in December!), and countless new friends for whom I will be forever grateful. I never knew blogging would give me everything it has and I'm thankful from the bottom of my heart.

Have the loveliest weekend!

Home For The Holiday

{via Mary Ruffle}
My boyfriend and I are currently en route back to Connecticut to spend the next few days catching up with family and celebrating Thanksgiving. What are your plans for the holiday?

A Dream Come Rue!

Did you see it, did you see it?! I swear it's there, in teeny tiny letters — my name has graced the pages of Rue Magazine's second issue! My mind has been blown by their sophomore issue's content and new-and-improved design. I think I could even frame the cover for my walls!
Please do stop over when you have a moment. You will not be disappointed! You'll find me on page 45 for an interview with the folks behind Nickey Kehoe, on page 224 for the jewelry designer behind Anndra Neen, and on page 238 for gentlemen's holiday party chez Scot Meacham Wood. Thank you for your support!

Happy Weekend!

What a week! These are two of my favorite street style photos because, in addition to the super sleek black get-ups,  they seem so natural. We girls are always walking arm in arm, chatting about n'importe quoi. Go have yourself a happy weekend full of laughter and girl talk! Do you have any plans?

Bon Week-End!

Wishing you all a happy weekend whether you're out enjoying the change of seasons or nesting inside with a takeout container (and hopefully looking half as glamorous as Gwyneth!). I'll be ticking a few projects off my to-do list and making time for a few soirées on the side. Have a good one and see you on Monday!
