10 CLASSIC ACCESSORIES EVERY GIRL SHOULD OWN

It's easy to get swept up in shopping for items that will get you through one or two seasons but I really try to focus my resources on pieces that will stand the test of time. These are ten pieces I think every girl should own, whether you can afford them right this moment or you're saving up for something you know will last.

The color of these Tory Burch Reva flats is "iced coffee" which makes them an instant win in my book but I also love these and these.

This one catches light beautifully and works just as well with a silk blouse as it does a white t-shirt.

I'm obviously biased toward these tortoiseshell bangles but I also love tortoiseshell for eyewear.

I'm the kind of person who freezes in movie theaters, offices, restaurants, you name it. Having a scarf tucked in my bag has saved the day on numerous occasions!

Is there a more timeless timepiece? I think not.

These ones cost $14 (meaning you won't be devastated when one falls down the drain).

If you're more likely to wear black, I suggest this one from K. Slademade.

You can never have too many but I'd start with your favorite metallic.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants in eyewear form, these look good on ev-er-y-one. Trust.

My mom gave me this one from J.Crew for my college graduation and I find it way more youthful than the classic single strand.

What classics have you picked up lately? Anything you'd add to this list? I'm all ears!

FRIENDS WITH STYLE {WES}

Brooks Brothers jacket (similar) // Vineyard Vines shirt // Cole Haan belt

Say hi to Wes! He's a Bucknell friend of mine who visited last weekend from D.C. and I couldn't resist shooting his cute outfit for weekend brunch. Plaid, polka dots, and a pop of orange — somehow he makes it work and looks good doing it. Don't you wish more boys would be this fearless with color? Real men wear pink... and apparently orange too ;)

DESK DU JOUR (SUBMIT YOURS!)

{Katie's desk featuring Design Darling monogrammed pencil cup}

One of my oldest series on the blog is Desk Du Jour, where I'd share a favorite workspace and occasionally a few products to help achieve the same look. I'm anxious to bring it back as a regular feature (especially now that I'm trying to post twice a day again!) but this time I need your help. I'm dying to see where you work — whether it's a cubicle or a spot in your apartment — and how you've made your workspace a colorful and stylish place to get productive. Each week I'll feature a favorite or two with a link to your blog if applicable.

Have a cute desktop you care to share? Email your name, blog, and a quality (preferably non-Instagram, at least 500px wide) image to eddy@designdarling.com. I can't wait to see what you've got!
