For Fenway

I normally start each week with "Happy Monday!" but I'd be remiss if I did not mention something that's occupying the bulk of my thoughts today. Our puppy Fenway unexpectedly passed away over the weekend and our hearts are full.
Fenway lived a full and happy life curled up at the foot of my bed or perched in my lap as I typed many a blog post. In fact we'd come to think of him as Design Darling's very cute (though largely unhelpful) resident intern.
We've spent the past few days remembering all the times he made us laugh and the many everyday moments we took for granted. My dad, the biggest Red Sox fan I know, was quick to point out that Fenway led the team to two World Series championships in his seven years, a feat that many others had waited 86 years for.
Here's hoping heaven is full of cuddles, doggy friends, and people food. Fenny, we love you and miss you more than you know.

Just found your blog thanks for Matchbook Mag. I'm so sorry you lost Fenway this weekend. I got my lab a year ago February and even though he's only 4 years old, I can't stand the thought of losing him. Fenway has crossed the Rainbow Bridge and I hope you'll see him again. Much love during this time, SG

I'm so sorry about your loss. i come from a huge dog loving family and when we lost ours I was heartbroken. People don't always seem to be as sympathetic when somebody loses a pet, but it's hard. i'll be thinking of you and fenwayy!

Dearest Mackenzie

What a sad weekend, you are in my thoughts today. In fact, know that we all - your interwebs tribe - hold you tight in our thoughts today, thank you for sharing your special memories with us.

There is something so special about the unconditional love of an animal. He sounds as though he had a wonderful life here with you, how blessed you both were.

I'm so sorry Mackenzie. He was such an adorable little guy! As far as I'm concerned losing a dog is the same as losing a human family member, and it takes a long time to feel back to normal. Take good care of yourself, I'll be thinking about you and your family.

Mackenzie, your dog was absolutely adorable. I can't imagine how hard this must be for you and your family so I'm sending you lots of warm wishes and prayers. It stinks that animals who love you unconditionally can't live as long as humans.

Oh my gosh, I am SO SORRY to read this post, you must really be heartbroken!! Just a month ago I lost Snow, our cat, in a matter of half an hour, fast, totally chocking and very upsetting!!! I know people will tell you "time heals", and right now it does not seem like that, but it is true. We will NEVER forget the joy and happiness these little animals bring into our lives, we hope that we give them a good life, as I am sure you did, but it is never easy to let them go!!!

Take care of your self!

Blessings.

Mackenzie I am so sorry for your loss. We think of animals as our family, ones who are there for us no matter what. I hope you and your family can get through this hard time and reminisce on the wonderful memories Fenway brought you all. You are in my thoughts- I know that must be very hard.

I am so, so sorry for your loss. One of my dearest dogs died suddenly one afternoon a few weeks ago, and it just broke our hearts; our home is not the same without him, and all our family, human and four-legged, feels his absence acutely. The only consolation we ever really have is hoping that their lives were happy whilst we shared them, and I have to say I'm tearing up just typing that. I like your idea of heaven–I hope for my Mr Skipper's sake that there are belly-rubs as well.

Big hugs & sloppy kisses (from my other dogs, to yours),

Laura
