JAMIE BECK IN BRAZIL

Jamie Beck takes the prettiest pictures, don't you think? Her latest trek to Brazil makes me want to pack a bag and book a flight. My wanderlust is in full swing having recently reconnected with my French host mom from my junior year spring semester in Tours, France. Knowing I'm "welcome anytime" in an adorable little townhouse in Europe is just too tempting!

P.S. Love Jamie's pink dress? (I do!) Here's an affordable option in the perfect shade of pink.

5 TRAVEL BAGS I LOVE

As I gear up for my month of travel, I need a travel bag that's big enough to accommodate my overpacking tendencies, small enough to tuck in an overhead compartment, and stylish enough that I'm not embarrassed to lug it around the airport. You might remember my monogrammed luggage from this post but I figured I'd do a little round-up for anyone else who might be traveling this month (or the holidays — how is it fall already?!). Seriously lusting after the Tory Burch but the $70 option is too good to resist!

WHERE DO YOU WANT TO TRAVEL NEXT?

In the spirit of this post, I've been planning a few exciting getaways and get-togethers for the next couple months. I was feeling pretty low at one point last week and started brainstorming things I could look forward to. Before I knew it, I'd penciled in fall trips to New Orleans, Denver, and Boston... And I couldn't be more excited! I love spending time in my apartment and New York in general but I'm really overdue for a little travel. A few of the goals on my next 101 in 1001 list (to be shared at the end of the month!) pertain to travel which got me thinking: Where are all of you dying to travel next? Here are a few destinations I'd be most excited about:

St. Tropez photographed by Gray Malin
Tulum, Mexico, photographed by Sarah Yates

I'm dying to hear about any trips you're planning or simply daydreaming about. I'm definitely hoping to see at least one new continent and one new country as part of my next list so I'd love a little inspiration from you guys. A little Tuesday wanderlust never hurt anybody!

PHOTOS FROM NANTUCKET...

She's going to kill me for this but please allow me one moment to brag about my friend Amy's photography. Honestly I get by on Instagram but Amy's snaps from our weekend on Nantucket had me wondering whether we were even on the same island. She has the best eye for color and composition — it was kind of amazing to just watch her at work. I'm so excited to be working with her on a few upcoming projects — stay tuned!

Here are a few of my favorite photographs she took last week. Beaches + family + girlfriends + hydrangeas + iced coffee + my favorite place on earth... You can bet I'm already counting down the days until we head back!

P.S. How gorgeous is my grandmother's lightship basket? It was a gift from my grandfather :) I love that she paired it with her Design Darling bangle

P.P.S. Check out Amy's blog here and be sure to follow her on Instagram! You won't regret it.

JAMIE BECK IN CANNES

Do you all follow fashion photographer Jamie Beck? I'm a teensy bit obsessed with her work. These gorgeous pictures from her recent trip to Cannes have me filled with travel envy...

See the rest of her photos here and here and be sure you're following her on Instagram as well! Do you have any favorite photographers I should know about? Do tell!

WHERE HAVE YOU TRAVELED?

I'm spending the next couple weekends out of town (my sister's graduation, Sarah's wedding!) and it made me think how much I miss traveling, both near and far. I lived in France for six months in college, moved to California for a few months after graduation, and my family has a goal to see all fifty states together... It's safe to say I love a good adventure!

I thought it would be fun to count up the number of countries and states I've visited and ask you to do the same! (You know I love a good list.) My tally is 12 countries and 36 states — I would love to hear yours! One of the goals on my bucket list is to set foot on all seven continents and so far I've only hit two. How about you?!

P.S. How cool is this corkboard map?

A CASE OF WANDERLUST...

Lately I've been itching to plan a trip and take a vacation. As I was editing photos for Monday's outfit post, I stumbled upon folders and folders from my semester abroad in college and took a trip down memory lane. I lived with a host family in Tours, France, for six months and spent weekends frolicking around Europe. Here are a few of my favorite snapshots...
{Ios, Greece}

{Santorini, Greece}
{Périgord, France}
{London, England}
{Munich, Germany}
{Salzburg, Austria}
{Interlaken, Switzerland}

While there's undoubtedly plenty more to see in Europe, what I have in mind now is a little less adventurous and much more along the lines of packing a couple bikinis and hanging out on a beach for a few days. Tell me: if you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go? And what's the coolest place you've been so far? I can't wait to read your responses!

52 + 53

My family has a goal to see all fifty states together. It doesn't count if just one or two of us visits; all six must be there in order to check a state off the list. So far we've seen 33 states, a list of which you can see in the sidebar HERE. Two of the items on my 101 in 1001 list pertain to this family goal and they are...
52. Figure out the best way to keep track of our family's travels...
53. ...And make progress by crossing at least one more state off our list!

I stumbled upon this map ($60) on Etsy and I think it'd be a fantastic way to note our family's travels. Now to plot our next trip... Shall it be Arizona, Arkansas, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, or West Virginia? ;)

Have you done lots of traveling within the U.S.? How do you keep track of your travels?

California-Bound.

Today is my last day in Connecticut as I fly from New York to San Francisco at an ungodly hour tomorrow morning. I hate saying good bye and I'm going to miss my family, my friends, my boyfriend, and my puppies so much it already hurts. Breathe deep annnd leap.

Nantucket.

I'm spending a few days in our home on Nantucket with my family before my final week in Connecticut. After this, it's errands, interviews, packing, and — next Saturday — San Francisco!

Summer in San Francisco {Packing List}

I booked my flight to San Francisco this weekend (June 4 — so soon!) and I have been thinking of all the little things I want to pack ever since: notebooks to jot down ideas for blog posts and names of restaurants to try, my iPhone and monogrammed cover to share my adventures with you all, an eco-friendly bag for groceries, stationery for sending letters back east, sunglasses to stay safe in the sun, and of course a darling striped picnic blanket for my days off!

Au Revoir!

I'm off to Florida with my family through Wednesday and I can't wait to feel the sun on my face and the sand between my toes! I'll be spending lots of quality time with my grandmother, catching a few of my sister's softball games, and — eek! — catching a Red Sox vs. Yankees spring training game with my dad! (We might be Boston's biggest fans; we even have a pup named Fenway!) Thanks to the magic of scheduled posts, however, you'll find new posts here starting Monday. Ta ta for now!

Desperately Seeking Sunshine

In five days, my family and I will be en route to sunny Florida for my sister Reilly's softball spring training trip. While I'm dreading packing my bags (see my about page), I'm giddy at the thought of afternoons by the pool, dinners by the water, and lots of quality time with my parents, my siblings, and, yes, my doting grandmother. The countdown begins!

No. 79

It's hard to stay put in a Pennsylvania winter, particularly after spending last spring studying in France. My wanderlust is in full gear these days and I'm itching to take a trip to Montreal. In fact, it's no. 79 on my 101 in 1001 list. Have any of you been?

P.S. I have this camera and I adore it. It's responsible for all the pictures on my travel blog!

Two By Train

These romantic shots captured by Michelle Holden remind me of the six months I spent in France last year. From the people to the transportation, everything is prettier and sexier in Europe! Do take a spin through the travel blog I kept if you're interested in seeing where I've been.
