Blog Crush {Her Waise Choice}

If you follow me on Twitter, you know that one of my new favorite pastimes is clicking through other bloggers' blogrolls to find new-to-me blogs. I found Jen's blog Her Waise Choice through Anh at 9 to 5 Chic and instantly fell in love with her unfussy elegance.
Jen describes herself as "a Vancouver girl who believes that you can be stylish without being superficial, on trend without being a slave to fashion, and look good without looking down on others." I mean, who doesn't love that philosophy?
Like me, Jen gravitates toward solid colors or simple patterns like polka dots and stripes. Much of her wardrobe seems to be geared toward classic pieces like statement sunglasses and the perfect trench.
I also like Jen's emphasis on affordability. Many of her fashion finds come from places like Forever 21, H&M, and Zara — perfect for those of us on a college student or recent grad budget.
Isn't she adorable? I love that she mixes polka dot prints of different sizes.

I have the same white skirt from Zara and I love the idea of pairing stripes with leopard print. How unexpectedly chic!
Do yourself a favor and go check out Her Waise Choice. Now tell me — what are some of your favorite new-to-you blogs?

I Want To Dress Like You

{Note to self: must buy red leather belt.}

Blog crush alert! I am smitten with the personal style of Atlantic-Pacific blogger Blair, who goes by her initials BEE. Smitten. She's preppy with a twist and never shies away from color or costume jewelry — an inspiration to us all!
{If only every rainy day were so chic! Blair pairs a favorite BB Dakota dress with red Hunter wellies, reminding us that inclement weather is no excuse for dreary dressing!}
{How fabulous is her hair? I'm definitely coveting her J.Crew sweater and American Apparel clutch. I'm amazed at how she makes the mundane (grabbing a cup of coffee) magnificent (bouffant and sequins).}
{I want to steal everything about this look. Who knew a classic Ralph Lauren shirt could be so fun?}
{Red lips and a hot pink skirt definitely perk up a gray day. Her love of color is endlessly inspiring!}
{That's it — I'm tying grosgrain ribbon on everything I own.}

Any other personal style blogs I should waste all day swooning over know about?

Style Icon {Taylor Sterling}

She's as cute as they come and embodies California cool to the max. Ladies and gentlemen, Taylor Sterling of Sterling Style! I love that she sticks to the classics (ahem, J.Crew) but works in trendier pieces like the maxi skirt above — and I'm seriously coveting her Rebecca Minkoff bag! What do you think of this California girl's laid-back look?

Style Icon {Olivia Palermo}

From mean girl on The City to it girl just about everywhere, Olivia Palermo is no stranger to the style radar. She is perpetually well-groomed and mixes high and low better than anyone. Blonde or brunette, strolling the sidewalks or strutting her stuff, Olivia is every bit worthy of icon status.

Olivia's street style is all about wardrobe staples topped with luxe extras. Three of these looks require a plain white blouse, which can be worn solo or paired with a furry vest or tuxedo jacket. Black pumps and gold flats are equally appropriate for everyday use while a navy schoolboy blazer is a timeless necessity in any wardrobe. Olivia tops off each look with a little something luxurious, like chic tortoise sunglasses or her ever-present rotation of Birkin bags.

Olivia makes cameos at Diane von Furstenberg and Elle but we all know her real claim to fame is her socialite status. Fashion shows and public appearances are all in a day's work for this style icon — and she has the wardrobe to prove it. She relies again on black and white basics but introduces subtle pattern and sexier shoes like pointed toe pumps and strappy sandals to take her look from day to night. The occasional pop of color, whether a burgundy shoe or a yellow clutch, keeps her classic appeal from feeling too predictable.

Olivia takes more risks when it comes time for her to dress up and hit the town. A purple printed dress cinched with a leopard belt for Elie Saab? Why not! Unexpected accessories like a bold necklace and unusual textures like leather separates keep her look refreshingly modern. She keeps her hair and make-up simple — fresh-faced with an easy up-do or loose waves — and lets her clothes do the talking. What's not to love about that?

Style Icon {Peony Lim}

She's the first to admit her newcomer status but Peony Lim already has the makings of a style icon. Not familiar yet? She's one third of the street style blog PRP, which incidentally stands for Photographing Real People and the initials of its three contributors, Pete, Row, and Peony. She and her two equally chic friends aspire to various positions in the fashion industry and have been photographed by a number of street style bloggers outside of London Fashion Week, to which they have not (yet!) been invited. The free publicity is well-deserved, however — these girls (and boy!) have some serious personal style!

Style Icon {The Glamourai}

Clearly I've been hiding under a rock somewhere because I've only just devoured discovered the fashion genius that is Kelly Framel. Her blog, The Glamourai, is an absolute gem that covers Ms. Framel's outfits du jour — she calls them her costumes! — as well as sneak peeks of her home, her collaboration with Coach, and her adventures in jewelry design.
Every picture looks to me as though it belongs in the pages of my favorite magazine and her use of accessories is nothing short of brilliant. You simply must hop over to The Glamourai for more of Kelly's fabulous taste!

Style Icon {Nicole Richie}

She's grown up a lot since The Simple Life, hasn't she? Wavy tresses, floor-length dresses, and fistfuls of costume jewelry... Nicole Richie has a casually chic style that's all her own.

Style Icon {Michelle Obama}

I like to think my Style Icon series has covered some pretty chic starlets: Blake Lively, Kate Bosworth, Lauren Conrad, Cameron DiazGwyneth Paltrow.... But when The Cut posted 118 photos for their Michelle Obama Look Book 2010, I knew it was time to take things to the presidential level. Enjoy!
