OUTFIT {HOT PINK MAXI DRESS}

Design Darling disco ball bangle and tortoiseshell bangles  //  Essie Bikini So Teeny  //  Ash wedges (similar)

Go bright or go home! This hot pink maxi dress makes me smile every time I open my closet door. It's such an easy piece to throw on with wedges when the temperature hits 90ยบ+ in the city. Speaking of new favorites, I can't get enough of this summery light blue nail color and white roses mixed with blue hydrangeas (seen here). What are some of your current color obsessions?

P..S. Social Dress Shop is offering 20% off all dresses with code DARLING20 at checkout! I love this gingham halter, this mod shift, and this striped number.

GIRL CRUSH

I'm absolutely enamored with Nicole Warne's blog Gary Pepper Vintage. The clothes, the backdrops, the photography... Everything is divine. Get her look with the perfect navy blazer, killer heels, and a passport full of exotic stamps. Do take a peek at her archives if you're not already familiar!

COACH TERRI HEEL

I'm obsessed with the woven pattern of Coach's Terri heel in all three colorways: natural/silver, ginger/gold, and navy/white. The squared heel means they're comfier than your average summer sandal and the ankle strap makes them just dressy enough to wear desk-to-date night. Which color would you get the most use out of?

WEEKEND WARDROBE

It's shaping up to be another hot, hot, hot weekend in New York! This kind of humidity calls for an easy breezy dress and unfussy accessories like these leather sandals which I'm quite convinced I need. Oh and don't forget the sunscreen — I go through a bottle of this almost every month!

TUCKERNUCK STYLED

I just can't get enough of what Tuckernuck is doing these days. Carly and I got to hang with their community manager Emily in Dallas back in April and had the best time chatting about our favorite blogs and brands. I think their styling is as cute as can be! Tuckernuck also has the cutest blog where they photograph friends of the brand styling some of their favorite pieces (recognize Devon and Kat above?). Some of the items I'm obsessed with right now? This anchor sweater, a dreamy leather tote, and the perfect striped shirt. Want it, need it, have to have it.

8 ACCESSORIES I LOVE RIGHT NOW

It's really no accident that three of my favorite accessories right now are shoes. Is there anything more fun than wearing a new pair of pumps? I mean, blisters aside, a new pair of shoes is my very favorite wardrobe update and I don't know how much longer I can live without these in my life. And there's something so very luxe about this classic leather pouch, don't you think? Navy is my favorite color...

P.S. We're having a today only flash sale! Use code FLASH at checkout to save 20% on these select items.

TORY BURCH IN THESE SHOES

Tory Burch has a new Pinterest board dedicated to shoes and I'm pretty sure I've died and gone to heaven. The Chelsea flats in navy, the Ivy pumps in navy suede and nude leather, the Reva flats in chestnut suede... Oh and the suede chain clutch is a looker too. Would it be so wrong for me to spend my entire fall shopping budget on shoes? ;)

C. WONDER THROW PILLOWS

ONE  //  TWO  //  THREE

Throw pillows are the easiest and most cost-effective seasonal updates for your space. These C. Wonder pillows would be perfect for an outdoor space (and if you have one, I'm jealous!) but equally appropriate for your indoor sofa. The last one reminds me of my all-time favorite Jonathan Adler wallpaper which I've promised myself I'll use in a powder room one day!

PHOTOS FROM NANTUCKET...

She's going to kill me for this but please allow me one moment to brag about my friend Amy's photography. Honestly I get by on Instagram but Amy's snaps from our weekend on Nantucket had me wondering whether we were even on the same island. She has the best eye for color and composition — it was kind of amazing to just watch her at work. I'm so excited to be working with her on a few upcoming projects — stay tuned!

Here are a few of my favorite photographs she took last week. Beaches + family + girlfriends + hydrangeas + iced coffee + my favorite place on earth... You can bet I'm already counting down the days until we head back!

P.S. How gorgeous is my grandmother's lightship basket? It was a gift from my grandfather :) I love that she paired it with her Design Darling bangle

P.P.S. Check out Amy's blog here and be sure to follow her on Instagram! You won't regret it.

HOW HAS YOUR PERSONAL STYLE EVOLVED?

Do you ever feel like your personal style is shifting a little bit? Of course it's a constant evolution but I do find myself being drawn to different pieces these days — a classic striped blouse, yes, but also a cool architectural bootie that would complete just about every look this fall. Maybe it's a combination of living in New York, making new friends (completely and utterly obsessed with Amy's style, for instance), and getting just a little bit older (I turn 24 next month!).

I think a lot about the words I'd use to describe my personal style. Classic, hopefully. Edgy, never. Preppy, usually. How has your personal style evolved in recent years? How would you describe it today? I would love to hear your thoughts!

DO YOU HAVE A LUCKY NUMBER?

Mine is 7. It's the number of my family's house and I remember a childhood field trip to a cathedral where all the measurements added up to 7 (124 foot ceilings where 1 + 2 + 4 = 7). It's a little random but lucky number seven does have a nice ring to it. Do you have a lucky number? The date of your birthday, the number of your childhood jersey, the address where you grew up? I'd love to hear!

P.S. How stunning are these Lulu Frost for J.Crew code rings? I've posted them before but I still think they'd make the most beautiful gift for a very special occasion. If you're looking for a similar option that won't break the bank, I love these alphabet rings by Gorjana.

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!

Sweater  //  clutch  //  book

A quick post from the ferry to Nantucket to say hello and Happy Fourth! I hope you're all enjoying the day off from work and celebrating with family and friends. God bless the U.S.A.!

OFF TO NANTUCKET!

I'm off to Nantucket first thing tomorrow morning and believe me when I say it's not a moment too soon! Today I'm busy packing my bags and wishing I had the above ensemble to join me on my travels. I'll try to pop back in again on my trip but here are a couple things to check out while I'm away:

1. Shopbop's summer sale is out of this world. I'm eyeing this bow bikini top, this classic shirtdress, a cool cuff, this leather skirt, and this striped number.

2. J.Crew is offering 40% all swim. I love these bow bottoms, this polka dot top, this striped one-piece

3. I always stock up during coffee book sales at One Kings Lane. This is one of my favorite covers, Slim Aarons is a must, and I obviously couldn't resist this.

4. Don't forget: new arrivals at designdarling.com! These quirky coasters are a new favorite.

Have a happy Fourth of July and a wonderful long weekend! xx

NEW ARRIVALS!

A few noteworthy new arrivals in the boutique...

1. I'm gaga for these cutting boards. The small is great for a dorm room or get all three as a summery hostess gift!

2. This boxed card set is pretty much genius. With 40 cards for every occasion from birthdays to get well, you'll never need to waste another moment in the Hallmark aisle again.

4. If you're having a nautical moment (and/or looking for affordable art), you could totally frame this letterpress card.

5. "I don't even know what we're arguing about." These cards make me laugh.

...And lots more right here!

TRAPEZE SCHOOL NEW YORK

Last night Eddy and I took a beginners' class at Trapeze School New York! I was such a scaredy cat but it was an absolutely incredible experience. We started with simple knee swings then moved up to back flips and a few catches at the end. I can't believe how much we learned in just two hours! All the staff members were so encouraging and the view of the city skyline was breathtaking — I couldn't recommend the entire experience more highly. Number 68, done and done!

P.S. I wore my favorite Thomas Kelly leggings!

GREENWICH POLO CLUB

{Jack Rogers in platinum and white}

Way too many pictures from a lovely picnic and polo match with EmilyShelly, and Alex on Sunday! It was so nice to escape the city for the afternoon and do something totally different for a change. I can't say we really watched much of the match but there was plenty of girl talk, people watching, and prosecco to boot. Number 92, crossed off the list!
