The house I grew up in in the suburbs is robins egg blue with a bright apple green door. I love it!

love the idea of painting behind bookshelves! on my list for months!
A family that lives near my parents painted the trim in their rooms and left the walls white, it was really gave the room a interesting feel.
We painted the back of our dining room built ins a chocolate brown to make our white dishes pop- I've gotten a ton of compliments on it! And we just painted our door a bright blue.
Not sure I'm brave enough yet to paint the ceiling but love how it looks!
Love the idea of painted bookshelves. White shelves get so dirty and scratched after a few years - it's the perfect way to freshen them up!

I'm having my hallway and stairwell painted a bright bubblegum pink. Will make me happy when I get up in the mornings for sure!
I love painting unexpected spots! I have always wanted to paint a bright front door like the pink one here. A ceiling is also a great idea!

I like painting hidden spots, like the edge of a door or inside of drawers, so you get a surprise when you open them!

I love these ideas! The first is something I never really thought of but the second I fell in love with before when I saw it! I'm sure it doesn't help that I'm obsessed with pink!
Totally agree! I've seen the bookshelf idea and a friend of mine has done the cieling with a pattern -- amazing (though complicated to do!) -- and it makes such a striking visual impact.
