WEAR IT NOW, WEAR IT LATER

I don't really believe in having separate wardrobes for each season. Besides the obvious (snow boots and swimsuits, for instance), I like most of my clothes to transition seamlessly from summer to winter and vice versa. This means relying on basics like fitted oxford shirts, great jeans, lightweight sweaters, and one of my new favorites: the trench coat. Here's how I'd wear it now and how I'd wear it when it warms up in a couple months...

Classic camel and navy now, a pop of turquoise later. Finish either look with this killer cuff and a swipe of my favorite pink lipstick and you've got instant polish. Are you a fan of the trench coat? What's a recent wardrobe staple you've invested in? Have a great weekend! xx

Cute ensembles! I recently purchased my first trench coat and I agree that it is the perfect transitional piece, so classic and chic! Happy Friday :)

What a refreshing way to look at things! In my quest to invest in staple pieces, I have also been looking to pieces that can easily transition between seasons.

I bought my first French coat about three years ago and have been wearing it regularly ever since! It's by far the most versatile piece in my closet.

Agreed, having two wardrobes is kind of overkill in my opinion. A trench is perfect transition piece! Great looks.

Love these picks! I just purchased some camel Nine West boots. They are perfect for this time between winter and spring where is can be freezing in the morning, then warmer in the afternoon.

A trench is a total must-have for spring...there are countless ways to remix it! Love what you pulled together here!

I couldn't agree more! The trench coat is a great transitional piece! Our style is so similar! I recently ordered those Salvatore Ferragamo flats, as well as the Tory Burch wicker basket! I was a little disappointed that everywhere was sold out of the Varina flats, but I adore the Scott Smoking flats! :)
