"DO ONE THING EVERY DAY THAT SCARES YOU."

Oh, Eleanor, you're so wise. This has definitely been a guiding principle for me lately. New York can be a very intimidating place! So anytime I'm on the fence about whether to say yes to something, I try to remind myself of this quote. Blogger event? First date? New Pilates class? Trapeze lesson? As much as those things cause me anxiety, it's so enriching to get out of my comfort zone every now and then. And the funny thing is, as terrified as I am going into a scary situation, I almost never regret it once it's behind me!

Tell me: what's the last thing you did that totally scared you? Was it worth it?

Between work and grad school, one thing everyday is a bit much. I aim to try one new thing each week. Recent adventures have been signing up for Pilates Reformer and inviting someone new to lunch.

Love this quote! You should check out the book "My Year with Eleanor" by Noelle Hancock - it is her memoir of living this quote every day for a year. Such a fun read!

I've been doing a lot of "scary" things lately: hunting for my first NYC apartment, signing up for my first sprint triathlon, going on blind dates... Umm talk about nerve-racking!
But I'm definitely excited to see where these new adventures are going to take me! So thanks for the great advice, Eleanor (and Mackenzie)!

Best,

I started my own blog back in May after I graduated high school! I thought it would be a great way to practice my writing skills, especially this summer, and it has proven to be a fun and creative outlet! I was super nervous about sharing my thoughts and everything at first but now I can't wait to use it to document my new life as a college student and big city tyro.:)

I went to the movies solo. It was something I wanted to see and happened to have a bit of time carved out that afternoon for it. It was too last minute to have someone come with so I went alone. I felt so odd at first but no one looked at me funny. Not even the person I bought the ticket from. And......I was in a theater with other solo dolo-ers.

I adore this quote. It's such a good reminder. The NYC apartment hunting scene is what currently scares me. I'm in the process of signing my lease and it is so nervewracking - but in the best way possible.

LOVE this quote! I saw another quote recently about "say yes, figure it out later" and that has been guiding me so much lately! Today I took blog photos out in the open & while it scared the HELL out of me, I loved it too!
