SLEEPING IN

What I wouldn't give to be spending the morning in one of these super comfy sleep shirts, drinking coffee and reading blogs in bed. Aren't they pretty?

WEEKEND WARDROBE

For someone who loves clothes as much as I do, I really stick to the same basics day in and day out: an oxford or a striped tee, skinny jeans, and ballet flats or Jack Rogers. But lately it's been so hot that the thought of shimmying into my beloved denim is simply out of the question. I think it's time to invest in a couple casual dresses to help me weather this weather in style!

Oh and everything is under $100! Happy weekend :)

INTRODUCING SAIL TO SABLE

I was so excited to receive an email from Jennifer about her new site Sail to Sable. After discovering that we grew up in the same town and graduated from the same high school, I learned that Jennifer works for GQ and named her new line for the Easternmost (Sail Rock, Maine) and Southernmost (Cape Sable, Florida) towns on the Eastern Seaboard. Inspired by stripes, salty water, and all things summer, the line is every bit as preppy chic as Jennifer herself! Needless to say I'm elated to welcome her as a sponsor here on Design Darling. Here are a few of my top picks from the collection...
Navy linen pillow // Pink stripe pillow

The line also features adorable napkins and placemats perfect for the preppy home. What's your favorite item from Sail to Sable?

HIS AND HERS

ON HIM: Ray-Ban sunglasses // Land's End shirt // Locally made belt // Castaway Clothing pants ON HER: Ray-Ban sunglasses // Port Winsor tunic // Design Darling bangle // J.Crew signet ring (similar) // Skinnyjeans white straight leg jeans // Jack Rogers monogrammed sandals

I probably love this post more than usual because we're both wearing variations of my favorite color combo! I pretty much lived in this tunic on Nantucket last week — to the beach, out to dinner, and everything in between. Can I just say it's the most flattering tunic I've ever owned? I'm a little obsessed. What's one of your wardrobe obsessions lately?

CAITLIN WILSON IN MATCHBOOK

It was such a treat to interview Caitlin Wilson for Matchbook's July issue. I've been reading her blog for literally years and it comes as no surprise that her home tour is one of my all-time favorites!
I love the framed fashion illustrations and that pink sofa takes my breath away. What do you love most about Caitlin's home?

THE LITTLE PINK DRESS

I see the charms of the classic little black dress: it's flattering, versatile, and appropriate for a multitude of occasions. But the more I stare at my closet, I've started to realize that it's also a little boring — or at least super predictable. Enter the little pink dress to shake things up...

I love the bow on the back of #2 and the classic silhouette of #7 but it's the sweet scalloped details on #8 I'm most eager to add to my dress collection. Are you a fan of the little pink dress? Which is your favorite?

SUMMER LOVIN'

A few highlights from last week's jaunt to Nantucket...
Family meals and Design Darling topiaries at the dinner table // Morning strolls around town, iced lattés in hand // Quality time with my adorable grandmother (and number one fan) // Wearing this tunic to the beach and to dinner // Traveling home in this dress (and possibly never taking it off)

It requires a four hour drive and a two hour ferry ride but somehow family trips to Nantucket are always worth the while. Note to self: schedule next weekend trip asap!

NEW ARRIVALS!!!

My very favorite moment of owning my online boutique is that second when I get to press "publish" on a pretty batch of new arrivals. Today I added more than thirty new items, including affordable throw pillows (in every color and pattern under the sun!), chic tortoiseshell glassware, everyone's favorite pens, pom pom throw blankets, and recycled leather notebooks. I hope you love everything as much as I do! Shop all the pretty new things HERE.

TWO PENNY BLUE IN MATCHBOOK

I was so excited to interview several inspiring female entrepreneurs for Matchbook's July issue. Two of them are Erin Gates and Marie Whitney of the brand new Boston-based company Two Penny Blue. The women designed a collection of tailored blazers in bright hues and bold patterns and I personally can't wait to make my first investment — I just need to choose between the Cambridge blazer in fuchsia silk or mint linen. The best part? Each purchase contributes a school uniform to a girls' school in Kenya. What's not to love about that?!
