Lauren Stern

There are few moments as exciting for me as the discovery of a previously unknown to me interior designer's online portfolio. Needless to say I was thrilled to stumble upon Lauren Stern's work via a post on Seesaw Designs, who recently designed her business cards.
I'm quite certain I could walk into any one of these spaces and never want to leave!

John Robshaw

Bergamot
Alhambra Coral
Indigo Dip
Naples
It could just be the elephant in his logo but I am loving all things John Robshaw lately. How gorgeous are these pillow covers? Each one has enough visual interest to completely morph your maison into something très, très chic.

Desk Du Jour {Black & White}

Is your ideal home office dark and handsome or airy and light? Obviously a massive book collection is a constant ;)

Show & Tell {Friedasophie}

Happy Monday, everyone! I love when bloggers introduce me to their favorite Etsy sellers. The site is an incredible resource for handmade and vintage wares but honestly a little overwhelming to navigate unless you're searching for something specific. I thought we'd do a little show and tell today — I'll show you one of my favorite shops and you tell me yours!
Friedasophie pairs colorful stones with 24 karat gold to create versatile jewelry whose beauty lies in its simplicity. Take these orange stunners, for instance: perfect with a white dress in summertime or a gray cardigan come winter.
An everyday necklace for less than $20? This pendant is effortlessly chic thrown on over a white tee and jeans or layered with other pieces for a more bohemian feel.
I love this garnet and gold combination. The colors work over all neutrals, perfect for fall's resurgence of all things camel and khaki.

Piles of jewelry are all the rage right now — see trendsetters Mary-Kate Olsen and Rachel Zoe. Work the look into your repertoire with these darling single stone rings in a variety of universally flattering jewel tones.
This one-of-a-kind pendant is a total statement piece. Can you tell I'm loving turquoise?
 I love the organic shape and the unbelievably luxe dipped-in-gold effect of this druzy pendant.

Which of these gorgeous pieces from Friedasophie will you be adding to your shopping cart and what are some of your other favorite Etsy shops?

Friday Finds

Jamie opened the doors of her online boutique Furbish Studio to the delight of shoppers everywhere...
Lonny featured Jonathan Adler employee Ben Brougham's fabulous New York apartment (and he is every bit as fabulous in real life!)...
Leah made me smile with another of her famous thank you notes...
And I wrapped up my internship with Jonathan Adler (yes, there were tears).

Happy weekending!

If You Can't Take The Heat

Confession: I can't cook. I won't bore you with the tragic details but suffice it to say I'm a Chinese takeout-turned-leftovers girl as opposed to a slave-for-hours-at-the-stove girl. Might a kitchen like these encourage me to give cooking the old college try?
Well-stocked bars are a blogger favorite for a reason! The styling of this little buffet vignette is undeniably chic — pretty packaging, pops of green and yellow, and a mix of matte (basket trays, lampshade) and reflective (bottles, mirror) surfaces. Flawless!
Who says practicality can't be chic? Even bottled beer and canned beans look appealing when lined neatly behind glass doors. Simple white cabinetry, timeless subway tiles, and a Kitchenaid mixer are key ingredients of my dream kitchen.
What's your take on this mirrored cabinetry? It's quirky but it kind of works, doesn't it? If you have a view that's worth reflecting (for instance, this pretty chocolate brown living room with its white coral mirror), I say why not!

Hands down my most favorite kitchen to date. Sleek cabinetry and appliances, mirrored penny tiles, a turquoise ceiling to boot? Forget what I said before — I'm so there!

Currently Coveting {Urban Outfitters}

Any of my fashion-minded friends will tell you that I have relatively simple style. I'm trying to push myself into sparklier territory but for summer-into-fall transitional dressing I'm still very much craving the basics.
I absolutely love rompers, an equally effortless alternative to the dress. This option will be chic with suede sandals now and glamorous with black tights and ballet flats later.
How many times must I profess my love for open backs? This LBD is office appropriate with a blazer on top and ready to party with a cocktail ring and a pair of high black pumps.

Outfits don't come more versatile than a simple black maxi-dress. This one is casual and comfortable but au courant — ideal for a summer picnic and a day of classes.
Pink ruffles feel fun and flirty with white jeans for summer and more glam tucked into a black skirt for a night on the town.
An unfussy shape wards off goosebumps induced by excessive air conditioning or chilly fall mornings.
Loving this playful silhouette with a white tee in August and a navy blazer in October.

What are your fall fashion must-haves?

Think Pink

I am of the school (there is one, isn't there?) that thinks every room needs a little pop of pink. No color is more eye-catching, more frivolous, more happy — and every space needs that!
A beautifully worn pink rug brings unexpected color to a muted palette.
A magenta throw pillow is a welcome contrast to David Hicks' ubiquitous La Fiorentina fabric.
Another antique-y pink rug plays off the pastel palette of Rashida Jones' apartment.
A fuchsia chair is an interesting choice paired with purple curtains but I think Cynthia Rowley makes it work. Loving that lucite magazine rack!
Quite possibly my favorite use of pink ever: hot pink velvet tufted beauties flank an old console and complement a figurative art display.

Where have you used pink to perk up your decor? None of this nonsense about pink-hating husbands!
