happy monday, everyone. please tell me you've all heard of rent the runway! for those of you new to the game, the concept is this: pick a pretty dress (or skirt or necklace or cocktail ring) that you could never afford at retail price, rent it for four days, dazzle your friends with your cost-savvy designer duds, and return the dress after your event. they'll even deliver it in two sizes so you can be guaranteed the perfect fit!
retail: $535
rent the runway: $75
retail: $415
rent the runway: $65
i love the idea — especially for those of you in the throes of wedding season! — since it's frustrating to invest in a pricey dress and find you won't wear it more than once with the same crowd (case in point: my beloved alice + olivia prom dress). yes, you could always go the forever 21 route, but wouldn't it be so much more fun to waltz in wearing giambattista valli or hervé léger? click here to find the perfect look for your next event.

I think it's a brilliant idea! I've never tried it, though.
This sounds like bag, borrow or steal from SATC1! So fun!
I love this! Perfect for attending a wedding. Off to shop :)
How have I never heard of this?? BRILLIANT! Love the Lela Rose sparkle halter!!
Great idea!! Love the first sequin dress! Perfect for the parties/weddings where you know you'll probably wear the same dress again!
It's such a great idea! Especially for events. I might have a hard time letting go of things once everything's all said and done though :)
Hope you had a fabulous weekend!
Such a crazy, yet brilliant, idea. I need to keep this in mind next time I have a big event : )

I think this is seriously such a great idea. I would definitely consider doing this for a party.
it's the greatest idea ever!! I told one of my friends about it and she rented a dress for a bachelorette party in Vegas...it worked out great!!
I might rent one for an even in August :)

Brilliant idea!
What a great idea. Perfect for a night out (though I surely would find it hard to say good-bye). xo

I just recently heard about this and can't get over how great the concept is! I love those starburst earrings and would love to wear those to a party this summer. Great post!

Heard of this, but haven't had a chance to try it yet. Fabulous idea! I'm definitely doing this the next time I need an outfit for a black tie affair. I have a couple gowns in my closet collecting dust after one outing, so sad. This would be much better, and tons of fun!!
Great idea. I've been itching to try it out.
Perhaps for a wedding I have in Sept!
I still think I would problems returning it. I think I would try holding it hostage!
That is the first I've heard of it. What a fun idea!
That Gryphon dress is SO delish!
my friend just tried it for - what else - a wedding. i can't wait to rent something so wonderfully luxe i could never purchase.
This is quite a fun + great concept. It reminds me of bag, borrow, or steal -- the handbag rental service. I would love to try it out sometime :)
Hope you're having a wonderful day + a great start to the week...
xoxo
Ah, the sorbet necklace is so pretty. Renting already worn garments is not something I would be keen to try, but I'm sure others don't mind. Happy Tuesday;-)
Shhhhh... don't tell everyone! Just kidding. I hope businesses like this thrive and succeed so that we have many little options like this to choose from. The "cost-per-wear" of the party dress is insane. You simply won't wear it again, so renting is IDEAL in my opinion. I can think of very few event dresses that I've ever had the opportunity to wear again.
Love the idea, especially with dresses, we only wear them the once only most of the time anyway!!
And what a great way to be able to appreciate expensive jewelry without breaking the bank
:) Hazel
We just found out about this today. Its amazing!!!
