Cocoa & Hearts

As you may recall, one of the goals on my 101 in 1001 list is to invest in my first piece of original art. You can imagine my delight when Jen of Made By Girl announced the opening of her art site, Cocoa & Hearts. Her paintings are colorful, modern, and simple in the best way possible. While her larger pieces are a fantastic resource for large-scale decorating projects, I'm most drawn to her 10" x 8" canvases, which retail for $95.
What are your favorite sources for original art?

I love her canvases and was thrilled when she started offering them in her shop! I like the ones you picked - they are so simple but really work.

I stumbled across her site the other day. Her work is gorgeous! For original art, I like 20x200. They represent up and coming artists and you can get prints for incredibly reasonable prices ($20!).

Sally King Benedict is a phenomenal abstract artist. I work for a local newspaper and in December she was my young entrepreneur feature -- I have a column on business owners and entrepreneurs under 30. She is down to earth, talented and fabulous!

Love these! I've been meaning to invest in something original too! Etsy is a good place to look, as I'm sure you know. And 20x200 does limited-edition prints, so that's sort of special too. Good luck, whatever your first piece is, I'm sure it will be beautiful!
