Stacked Books

I love an idea that translates well in virtually any interior and this is one of the easiest: stacking your books for a look that's lived in and personal. Pick your favorite titles and deck out your bookshelves or prop them next to your bedside. For a little inspiration, look no further:
Different, right? I love all the little boxes they're styled with too. No matter where you live or how tight you are on space, it's an easy way to inject a little personal style.

P.S. Design books are one of my ultimate indulgences — but I always buy them on sale at Joss & Main or One Kings Lane. Sign up to be kept in the loop on upcoming deals!

I'm still working on pulling together my bedroom decor in my first post college apartment (my colors are white, grey, and gold with pops of turquoise). I finally have all the big pieces and now I'm working on hunting down the finishing touches like dishes for jewelry, pretty candle holders, and incidentally, a stack of books! I already own the book Jackie Kennedy: The White House Years (I think you'll love that one) and have my eye on the Domino Book of Decorating. Do you have any other specific suggestions? Also, my favorite place to look is the sale section of Barnes and Noble. They always have coffee table type books!

Love the photo! Coffee table books are definitely an indulgence- but so nice to have around! I have gotten all of mine off Amazon. They are pretty sneaky about offering "oh if you like this book, buy this one too, and we will give you the third free!" and of course, they are all books I want, but can't necessarily afford. Acquiring them is like building a good jewelry collection - it happens slowly and over time.

I love how styled this look is without any effort at all!

I love the look of stacked books. I've seen quite a few examples in magazines (and on Pinterest). Stacking is such a great way to display a book collection!

I agree -- books add so much life to a living space. and they are easy to find -- but sometimes expensive. Love when they are on sale!

I just love stacks and stacks of (strategically placed) books! Especially with different colored spines!
