LILA SYMONS FOR TATTLY

I adore Alice Gao's blog Lingered Upon and thought her tattoo was rather sweet so imagine my delight when I learned it's actually just temporary! I heard Tattly founder Tina Roth-Eisenberg speak at Alt Summit NYC back in August and loved connecting the dots to Lila Symon's pretty script. Rest assured that if I ever have a tattoo, it will be a) fake and b) calligraphy. Do you have a tattoo? What's the story behind it? Dying to hear!

I love this idea! I have several tattoos myself, but my most favorite is the script lyrics located on my ribs that are from the song that my husband and I recessed to at our wedding.

These temporary tattoos are awesome! I have a tattoo on my inner wrist that says "Joy." It's my middle name and the focus for how I try and live my life.

I could never get a real tattoo...it's basically an accessory you can't remove. What good is that? But my word of the moment is 'dare'. I could totally wear that for a while.

Hi Mackenzie!

I have a tattoo. My dad passed away unexpectedly two years ago and I knew that I wanted something permanent to honor his memory. I couldn't do anything tacky, like DAD in a big heart on my arm, because that's just not me, so it took a year of brainstorming before I settled on the idea. He was creative and a constant doodler. His favorite word to doodle was Louisiana in cursive, because he said it was the prettiest word - no long letters or tall letters, it just flowed. I found the word all over his journals and notebooks. I took it to the tattoo artist and he created me a stencil and it was perfect. I put it on my left foot, the foot that I've had the most trouble with and causes me to stumble, as a way to symbolize how he'll always be with me to help me keep moving. It's along my toes on the top of my foot. I chose to do it in white ink, so that it's just for me. No one other than my nail lady ever notices it, but I know it's there. I can glance down and see the outline and be reminded that I'm never truly without him. He's always helping me continue along my path.

I have a love/hate relationship with tattoos... I do have one tiny little pink heart on my right hip that I got when I was 16. And when I say "tiny," I mean about the size of a dime! :) I was away on a school trip & got the tat in Mexico! YES, MEXICO! Don't worry, my Mother made me get tested for everything when I came home... Anywho, I have always wanted to get one on my left wrist (a scripture or "Perseverance" in CALLIGRAPHY!), but I work in a profession where it is not acceptable for tattoos to be seen. I change my mind from time to time.. So indecisive! :)

I love the idea of this as script tattoos are my favorite. I have one on my side that says Life is beautiful in Italian and then both of my grandfathers' dog tag numbers underneath.

Temporary tattoos are a clever idea, especially when they are designed so beautifully. I do have a tattoo - it's small and personal, and while I'd love another, I think these temporary tattoos are the way to go!
