A RAINY DAY ON NANTUCKET

A few snapshots of a rainy day spent popping into shops in my favorite place in the world...

One Orange, 1 Old South Wharf
Peter Beaton, 16 Federal Street
Eye of the Needle, 14 Federal Street

Milly & Grace, 2 Washington Street

I'll spare you the evidence of the bright green oversized raincoat I fished out of my grandmother's closet for the occasion. ;)

WEDDING WEAR

Design Darling sparkly studs  //  Allison Parris dress via Rent The Runway

Rent The Runway to the rescue! I can't tell you all how much I love this site. I was super disorganized last week and realized on Wednesday that I had no idea what I was wearing to the wedding in, oh, three days. I logged onto my favorites, sorted by what was available that weekend, and picked out this fun patterned frock that was absolutely perfect for the festivities! I highly recommend the site for birthday parties, graduations, weddings, and the like. Have you all rented a dress before? I'm already inventing excuses to do it again soon!

HAMPTONS WEEKEND!

I had the best time in the Hamptons with Alex and Sarah for Sarah's wedding. Here are a few snapshots from our weekend (as always, lots more on Instagram!).
First we stopped by Serena & Lily's summer pop-up shop in Wainscott. How fun is their striped awning?
I fell in love with these patterned dog beds. If only I had more floor space in my apartment!
Of course their selection of pillows and throws was totally on point.
With Sarah and Alex en route to dinner. I've been living in this Rachel Pally dress!
We had the yummiest dinner at Ruschmeyer's in Montauk.
Totally coveting Sarah's Tory Burch 797 satchel. Isn't it perfect?
A morning stroll in Bridgehampton before brunch at Pierre's. In a funny turn of events, I wound up getting home from the Hamptons and then hopping back in the car to head up to Nantucket to pick up my mom. Two days in my favorite place on earth? Don't mind if I do! I'll be sharing my brief little trip on Instagram if the weather manages to clear up. Stop back in tomorrow to see what I wore to the wedding!

OFF TO THE HAMPTONS!

I'm so excited to be headed to the Hamptons for Sarah's wedding! Alex, Sarah, and I left the city this morning and I can't wait for a little fun in the sun before Sarah's big day. From the sneak peeks she's shared, I know it's going to be the most gorgeous wedding! Be sure to follow along on Instagram and have a wonderful weekend! xx

JON JOSEF LINEN SKULL LOAFERS

Fuchsia  //  Turquoise  //  Natural

I actually squealed when I found these online. Are they not absolutely perfect? I'd wear any of them with this striped sweater and these white shorts and call it a day. Easy as one, two, three!

LISA PERRY ON THE COVETEUR

If ever there were a perfect closet, surely this is it. It's hard to believe designer Lisa Perry's digs are just blocks from my apartment on the Upper East Side. I've walked by her boutique countless times and I'm thinking it's finally time for a field trip. Her playful designs will cost you a pretty penny but they're sure fun to look at: this circle sweater, this colorblocked shift, these reversible coasters... But, really, can I just play dress-up in her closet? To die for. Check out the full feature on The Coveteur!

CHARM & CHAIN MONOGRAM SHOP

I love costume jewelry as much as the next girl but I think it's important to have a few special pieces, whether gifts from loved ones or presents to yourself to celebrate a certain milestone. Case in point: these personalized pieces from Charm & Chain. The simple gold and subtle personalization mean you can wear them with every outfit or layer them with some of your more colorful pieces. Here are five of my favorites:

Gorgeous, no? I love the idea of giving one for your birthday, engagement (hello, new monogram!), or graduation. Can you believe the first one is only $119? Too good to resist.

WHAT TO WEAR ON A FIRST DATE

Girls are so funny. We get all excited about going on dates, hyping it up with our girlfriends, doing the compulsory Facebook stalking... Only to let panic set in the day of as we stand in front of our closets, agonizing over what to wear. Sound familiar? Here's my go-to look of late: an easy dress, something cute to throw on if it's chilly, a classic accessory, and a pair of killer shoes.

Oh and can you tell I'm loving on Joie lately? I'd like one of everything to appear in my closet. This fuchsia dress has the most darling drop-waist detail, this minty silk number was made for white jeans, and this navy lace top would be perfect for date nights.

What's your go-to look for a first date? What's the best (or worst!) first date you've been on? Do tell!

OLIVIA POPE'S STYLE

Is anyone else obsessed with the show Scandal? My cousin Emily got me hooked last week and we're already halfway through the second season. (Don't you love when that happens?) Characters and plot aside, I'm absolutely obsessed with Kerry Washington's Olivia Pope's style. Here are a few choice looks from season two:

Have you ever seen a more stylish assortment of outerwear? I've collected a few of my favorite blazers/coats/jackets (okay, and one perfect boucle dress) in the slideshow below so we can all work a little Olivia Pope style into our everyday looks (you'll have to click over to the blog to see it!).

QUOTE DU JOUR

Welcome back! I had an incredible weekend at my sister Reilly's graduation (plenty of pictures on Instagram!) and I have a three-day work week thanks to Sarah's wedding this weekend. Here's a clever little quote to ease us back into the swing of things... Cheers to a productive week and one hell of a good time getting through it!
