Style Icon {The Glamourai}

Clearly I've been hiding under a rock somewhere because I've only just devoured discovered the fashion genius that is Kelly Framel. Her blog, The Glamourai, is an absolute gem that covers Ms. Framel's outfits du jour — she calls them her costumes! — as well as sneak peeks of her home, her collaboration with Coach, and her adventures in jewelry design.
Every picture looks to me as though it belongs in the pages of my favorite magazine and her use of accessories is nothing short of brilliant. You simply must hop over to The Glamourai for more of Kelly's fabulous taste!

A New Reason To Shop

My darling housemate Kelly sent me this picture over the summer and I've been waiting to share it until the holiday season was upon us! Isn't it genius? It's the perfect solution for all those shopping bags that are too pretty to throw away. As if you needed another reason to hit the shops this December...

Excessorize

Those who subscribe to The Rachel Zoe Report or follow the celebrity stylist on Twitter know that she invented the word "excessorize" to replace "accessorize" in her imaginative vocabulary. I'm usually a keep-it-simple kind of girl but these pictures are resonating strongly with me. Perhaps this month I'll break out of my comfort zone with a charming mix of bangles and, yes, multiple watches — pretty need not always be practical!

High Ceilings

Whether they're beamed, domed, or vaulted, high ceilings seem to me one of the greatest architectural luxuries. Particularly when paired with white walls and simple furnishings, they steal the show every time. An added bonus? The higher the ceiling, the taller the Christmas tree! Welcome to December, everyone!

Styling With Books

The colorful spines, the orderly stacks, the worn covers of much-loved classics... There's something about styling with books that gets me every time. It might not be the most practical storage for your favorite volumes but it is definitely the prettiest.

Desk Du Jour

I've probably mentioned before that my dream is to work from home. (What I would be doing is yet to be determined.) Can you imagine hosting clients in a home office like this one? The curves of the desk are so elegant and the modern chandelier is the perfect finishing touch. What is your dream job?

The Heart Of The Home

Kitchens like this one by The Brooklyn Home Company make me wish I knew how to cook. Are you a skillful chef or, like me, a fan of steam-them-in-the-bag veggies and frozen pizza?

Kathleen Burlew

I do hope you've all had a chance to click over to one of my newest sponsors, Kathleen Burlew Creative. Kathleen is a gifted calligrapher and sells gorgeous custom invitations and stationery. If you have a chance, I recommend stopping by each of my super talented sponsors and seeing what they're up to — they're a very inspiring bunch!

Desk Du Jour

The Thanksgiving festivities have wound down around here and it's time for me to get to work before I head back to school on Sunday — just in time for final exams! This semester has flown by and I'm so looking forward to the New Year and a clean slate. Enjoy the rest of your long weekend!

The Day After

How was your Thanksgiving? More importantly, how are you feeling today?
Are you dog tired...
...or up for some Black Friday shopping?

Giving Thanks

I know you're all busy busy in the kitchen or on the road but I wanted to take a moment and say thank you for reading, commenting, emailing, and making me feel like the above every single day. It's been a big year for me — an unforgettable internship with Jonathan Adler, my first articles published in Ruea new column with Design Refuge (starting in December!), and countless new friends for whom I will be forever grateful. I never knew blogging would give me everything it has and I'm thankful from the bottom of my heart.

Have the loveliest weekend!

Happy Thanksgiving!

If You Can't Take The Heat...

...Get out of the kitchen! Any one of these gorgeous kitchens would be perfect for holiday food preparation with lots of chatter on the side. What does your dream kitchen look like?

Anne M. Cramer

I'm smitten with this fall/winter collection from new-to-me clothing designer Anne M. Cramer. Her pieces come in a variety of textures, from wool to velvet and everything in between, and I'm pretty sure everyone needs a party dress all tied up with a bow. I'm so happy to have stumbled upon her site!

Home For The Holiday

My boyfriend and I are currently en route back to Connecticut to spend the next few days catching up with family and celebrating Thanksgiving. What are your plans for the holiday?

Shoe Storage

I'm head over heels for these glimpses into the closets of the shoe-obsessed. How is your shoe collection organized?

A Dream Come Rue!

Did you see it, did you see it?! I swear it's there, in teeny tiny letters — my name has graced the pages of Rue Magazine's second issue! My mind has been blown by their sophomore issue's content and new-and-improved design. I think I could even frame the cover for my walls!
Please do stop over when you have a moment. You will not be disappointed! You'll find me on page 45 for an interview with the folks behind Nickey Kehoe, on page 224 for the jewelry designer behind Anndra Neen, and on page 238 for gentlemen's holiday party chez Scot Meacham Wood. Thank you for your support!

Desk Du Jour

My ideal workspace would have a wide desk like this one where I could spread out my things without feeling cramped or disorganized. Granted a sleek red leather chair and stacked lacquer boxes wouldn't hurt!

Kayce Hughes

If you've been on the lookout for chic basics at reasonable prices, your search ends here. Look no further than my lovely sponsor Kayce Hughes, whose shop is brimming with pretty prints and girly ruffles. I've been living in my white ruffle blouse and knit tunic top — the quality is amazing and the pieces are wonderfully versatile.

P.S. If you're holiday shopping for little girls, Kayce's children's section is not to be missed!

I Heart Symmetry

While I appreciate those who can live with asymmetry, this type A personality much prefers symmetrical alignment for frames, furniture, you name it. The graphic impact of a matching frames — be it two or twenty — is so strong that I can't imagine doing it any other way. How do you prefer your gallery walls?

My Sweetheart

I have formals for my sorority, Alpha Chi Omega, this evening and I'll be donning a simple LBD with a sweetheart neckline à la these leading ladies. Whether it's gracing Angelina Jolie's classic gown or Lauren Conrad's day-to-night number, a sweetheart neckline is a one-way ticket to flawless femininity. What are your fashionable plans this weekend?

All About Stripes

Do you prefer your stripes on your body or in your bath? Horizontal or vertical?
