No. 79

It's hard to stay put in a Pennsylvania winter, particularly after spending last spring studying in France. My wanderlust is in full gear these days and I'm itching to take a trip to Montreal. In fact, it's no. 79 on my 101 in 1001 list. Have any of you been?

P.S. I have this camera and I adore it. It's responsible for all the pictures on my travel blog!

Drive the extra couple of hours and go to Quebec, it feels like you're in Europe and it's gorgeous in the winter!

Montreal is my hometown and it can be really a really fun & gorgeous trip if you know where to look. Let me know if you go and I can give you some pointers for restaurants, bars, where to shop, etc. X

I was in Montreal about two years ago. Made the drive from NYC when I was visiting, as it was also on my must-see list. It is a beautiful city with lots of history, shopping, and sites to see.

I recommend going in the summer where I hear the city comes alive, and as a lot of people have commented about above, I have heard absolutely wonderful things about Quebec City...we didn't have time to make it there, but I would definitely try to combine the two!

Do come to Montreal, it is especially beautiful in the summer. June is when we have all our festivals including a great Jazz Fest where the city comes alive along with Grand Prix. Also Olive and Gourmando is a must and great little lunch place. I have so many suggestions, so let me know when and I can offer more!

I have those sunnies from Urban, LOVE them! perfect shape for this season and such a steal! I know what you mean about the wanderlust. Montreal sounds lovely, I was supposed to be going to Victoria for my honeymoon at the end of the month but it didn't work out, so we're going to NY instead! (I've never been!)
