STYLE INGREDIENTS

This weekend I was getting dressed for a Christmas dinner party and had one of those moments where I decided I hate everything in my closet. (Please tell me you know the feeling?) It's funny that I spend part of each day scrolling through gorgeous outfits on Pinterest and yet when it comes time to get dressed I'm still texting my girlfriends saying, "What are you wearing?!"

I have a hunch that some of you might feel the same way so I decided to create a new little feature called Style Ingredients, where I'll feature a few favorite looks and break them down to see which pieces I love most about the look with links to similar products you can shop online. My hope is it will help me notice a few gaps in my wardrobe and inspire you to pull together some new looks from yours as well!

I'm definitely too pale for winter white but there's something very refreshing about this monochromatic look.

If you don't see yourself rocking a fedora anytime soon, you could easily get the same look with a green scarf. It's an unexpected combo that feels totally modern with basic black underneath.

Oh, Jenna. I would wear this outfit for New Year's Eve or a fancy date or prancing around packing boxes in my dining room because it's just that cute.

What do you think — do we like this idea for a series? Any looks you'd like to see me take on? Leave a link in the comments!

I love these images, and would love to see what else you've got (even though I follow your boards on Pinterest)

I can totally appreciate and know that feeling all too well! It's days like those that no matter how long ago it was that I lived with my girlfriends, I miss the closet sharing and instant feedback that girlfriends give!

I definitely like this idea for a series! My husband's holiday party is this Friday, and I have the reaction of not having anything to wear even while shopping!

I feel like that on a regular basis! I think it's because I need to do a closet purge! My closet is so jam packed I can barely see things so it makes me feel like I have nothing to wear!! I love this series...that last outfit is my favorite!!

I lover your idea behind this post & I hope to see more similar posts... I liked all th looks but my favorite was the last one... Jenna knows how to make an outfit work... A simple stripped blouse & sequined trousers with fancy shoes & red lipstick & you are ready even for New Year's Eve...

Have a great week!!!

I love this idea! These are great outfits to kick the series off with - I am always looking for fresh ways to layer in the winter, especially using some not-your-run-of-the-mill accessories like felt hats, and socks + heels

Also, just wanted to let you know that I suggested your trellis candle on my blog yesterday as a gift for a boss! I think they are so cute and I got a good response about it! Keep it up girl! Love your boutique!

I also agree -
Great idea for a series. This is a problem that every girl faces, and it gets especially difficult in winter when there are so many events to go to. Last week I had picked out a party outfit in my head but when it came time to put it on I decided it was too frumpy and drab - crisis mode!

Lots of good staples that you can jazz up with crazy accessories are what helps me get through.
